Ethan Tameron, the son of a world renowned inventor, had it all,
until a deranged kidnapper decided to sell him as a sex slave.
Ethan had graduated high school at the top of his class, was a star
soccer player. He had just moved to London to join his parents
after his father's transfer and was accepted to a prestigious
university in England.
In lieu of a ransom note, an email with a video showed
Ethan naked, held in chains, and being trained to service his
new master. His captor made it clear that Ethan would be
auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Why was Ethan's kidnapper so determined to sell him as a sex slave?
Was he working alone or was this part of a bigger kidnapping ring -
one that had eluded MI5 for years?
Aaron, a shy young man, finds himself pulled into the
underbelly of the leather, BDSM playground as he tries to find
Ethan before the ticking clock runs down.

I had high hopes for this story based on the blurb and the three previous reviews, but honestly the writing was very bland. The story jumped POV constantly, and while the blurb seems to indicate that Aaron and Declan (maybe Ethan) are the main characters, they really aren't. Honestly, there really isn't a main character--there's like at least ten or more characters that the author jumps between. I think if the author had chosen one or two POVs and stuck with them, getting deeper into just those characters maybe this would have been a decent book. As it is, it really is just a bunch of people from an elite security agency running around trying to figure out who kidnapped Ethan, and you really don't feel connected to any of the characters. I thought maybe there was going to be something happening between Declan and Aaron, but even that never happened. And for some reason, quotation marks are missing all over the place (as well as a few other errors, but the missing quotation marks drove me nuts). I did give it two stars as the plot was okay in general (except for the end where it became a bit unrealistic and was actually rather anticlimatic--urban fighters? Aaron going in at all, why?)Product details

Scorned and Abandoned Aaron Jaycynth Mystery Book 1 edition by John Charles Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**
The blurb for Scorned and Abandoned is what pulled me in. I love a good suspense filled read. I'm sad to say though this was a hard book to finish. There is a lot going on, so many characters voices being heard. Very slow build up. I don't know if these is going to be a series, but many questions/situations left unresolved. I really wanted to like it, but it didn't have that pulling power that I needed. Unfortunately this one was a miss for me.

Read this book!
As a reader is there anything more exciting than finding an emerging talent?
Mr, Charles's skill is on display in this wonderfully engrossing novel which introduces us to Aaron Jaycynth, a resourceful and commanding presence in a suspense laden book.
Excellent plot, sharp dialogue; all the ingredients that make for a page turning experience. Go back and read his earlier efforts; you won't be disappointed and date your calendar ahead for the next Aaron Jaycynth novel. I, for one, can't wait!
A very fast read. The fast pace keeps the action moving! The setting is intriquing. The characters are very interesting and the interactions make this a good read.
When you open the pages of a John Charles novel you know you are in the hands of a pro. “Scorned and Abandoned” is a brilliant thriller, about revenge, and dishonor. You may think you know about the wealthy and powerful, but you've never seen them under an investigation like this. Aaron, a personal security guard is on a hunt unlike anything in spy fiction. This book presses the boundaries of what really exists in the world today. Some known, and some unknown powerful forces guide each character making a very surprising ending. Highly recommend.
I found the book to be seriously emotional. How can people harm others as the villains in this book do? I cried!
